Tony's Clam Shop started in 1964 on Wollaston Beach in Quincy and has been family owned for more than fifty years. The official site pictures the Kandalaft family, including Tony and Tillie, and calls the shop "a summertime staple for fresh New England seafood."

It opens seasonally. In 2018 Boston.com reported it reopening in late March for its 54th season after closing the previous October. Fox News in 2024 called it a "venerable landmark" serving fried clams from a seaside perch looking out toward the Boston Harbor Islands.
